THE NEBULA INFESTATION
The Nebula Infestation presents a focused selection of twelve mixed-media drawings from my larger ongoing body of work, The Nebula Snake - a series I have been developing since 2022 as a way of mapping internal psychological states through image and symbol.
At the centre of this wider body of work is the motif of The Nebula Snake/The Serpent Nebula: an unstable, amorphous form that recalls serpents in heat, parasitic worms, or invasive organic matter. It emerged in my practice as a visual language for the negative forces that inhabit the inner life - anxiety, grief, dread, compulsive thought, and the invisible emotional conditions that shape how we move through the world. The Nebula Snake is less a literal creature than a psychic presence: a form that coils itself around memory, perception, and the body.
In The Nebula Infestation, this imagined force becomes more immediate and confrontational. Across twelve drawings, the nebulous forms are placed in direct dialogue with expressive figurative imagery collaged into each composition. Fragments of the human body, gestures of tension, and states of emotional collapse appear alongside the slithering, writhing, invasive forms, juxtaposing psychological burden and the self that carries it.
This series is concerned with the idea of the infested self: a self inhabited by forces it cannot fully name, but whose effects are deeply felt. The infestation becomes a metaphor for the internal conditions that stunt growth, corrode self-perception, and distort one’s relationship to the world beyond the body. These works illustrate anxiety as an abstract concept while attempting to give it texture, shape, and movement - to render visible the unseen pressures that accumulate beneath the surface of human existence.
Through intricate line work, collage, and expressive mark-making, The Nebula Infestation turns inward, tracing the uneasy territory where the psyche and the self confront one another. The drawings do not seek resolution so much as recognition: an acknowledgement of the difficult, often hidden forces that exist within us, and the strange forms through which they make themselves known.

The Nebula Infestation présente une sélection ciblée de douze dessins réalisés à partir de techniques mixtes, issus de mon vaste projet en cours intitulé The Nebula Snake - une série que je développe depuis 2022 afin de cartographier des états psychologiques internes à travers l'image et le symbole.
Au cœur de cette œuvre plus vaste se trouve le motif de The Nebula Snake / The Serpent Nebula: une forme instable et amorphe qui évoque des serpents en chaleur, des vers parasites ou de la matière organique envahissante. Il s’est imposé dans ma pratique comme un langage visuel pour exprimer les forces négatives qui habitent notre vie intérieure - l’anxiété, le chagrin, la terreur, les pensées obsessionnelles et les états émotionnels invisibles qui façonnent notre façon d’évoluer dans le monde. The Nebula Snake est moins une créature au sens propre qu’une présence psychique Une forme qui s’enroule autour de la mémoire, de la perception et du système nerveux.
Dans The Nebula Infestation, cette force imaginaire devient plus immédiate et plus menaçante. À travers douze dessins, ces formes envahissantes dialoguent directement avec des images figuratives expressives intégrées par collage dans chaque composition. Des fragments du corps humain, des gestes empreints de tension et des états d’effondrement émotionnel côtoient ces formes rampantes, tortueuses et envahissantes, juxtaposant ainsi le fardeau psychologique et le moi qui le porte.
Cette série explore la notion d’un moi infesté: Un moi habité par des forces qu’il ne peut pas entièrement nommer, mais dont les effets se font profondément sentir. Cette infestation devient une métaphore des conditions intérieures qui entravent le développement, érodent la perception de soi et faussent notre rapport au monde au-delà du corps. Ces œuvres illustrent l'angoisse comme un concept tangible, en cherchant à lui donner de la texture, une forme et du mouvement - afin de rendre visibles les pressions invisibles qui s'accumulent sous la surface de l'existence humaine.
À travers un travail de ligne complexe, des collages et des traits expressifs, The Nebula Infestation se tourne vers l'intériorité, explorant ce territoire instable où la psyché et le moi se font face. Ces dessins ne visent pas tant à apporter une réponse qu'à susciter une prise de conscience : une reconnaissance des forces complexes, souvent cachées, qui existent en nous, et des formes étranges à travers lesquelles elles se manifestent.
